Veterans Day: Remember Those Americans Who Have Died in Bush’s Evil Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

On this Veterans Day, when we honor all our military veterans, give special thought to those 1,273 American soldiers who have died in Afghanistan, and the 4,287 American soldiers killed in Iraq — all for George W. Bush’s illegal warmongering.

Veterans Day ceremonies are often used to justify our nation’s military involvement in further overseas conflicts but, across the nation today, a sense of injustice and quiet anger can be felt.

There is not a true American alive who would not gladly fight for the freedoms and traditions of our great nation.

In many ways, Veterans Day has come to symbolize our nation’s willingness to defend our constitution and way of life.

Yet this year, there is something different about it, something that does not ring true.

Why have over 5,000 Americans died and tens of thousands been horribly injured in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Was it because Iraq had anything to do with the events of September 11, 2001? No, it did not.

Was it because Iraq presented a military threat to America? No, it did not.

Was it because Afghanistan was “undemocratic” and refused to surrender Osama Bin Laden for trial? No, it was not, on both counts.

If “lack of democracy” is a reason to invade other nations, then Americans had better get ready to attack the dictatorship of Saudi Arabia, one of our staunchest Arab allies in the Middle East.

The Taliban government of Afghanistan, installed originally with our help and blessing, in fact, offered to hand over Bin Laden upon production of sufficient proof of his involvement in the events of 9-11.

Yet still, the warmonger Bush, who now is selling his “memoirs” to a healthy profit, launched invasions of those nations, inflicting huge damage on them and resulting in the deaths of thousands of Americans.

So this Veterans Day, as you pause to consider all those who died to defend America and American values, reflect on those who have died to satisfy the insane war lust of criminals like George W. Bush.

And work with us to ensure that these crimes do not go unpunished.

I just can't believe how precisely my sentiments are captured on this web site. This article is a good example. I'm extremely conserative. But I still think Bush was a knucle-head. So why can't these purportedly conservative pundits ever admit to the total failure that was the Bush presidency.

    right on!

Least to say, Hannity, Limbough, and Beck, as well as Bush will never have the courage to ever say that they were wrong, but we know that they were wrong, and this is just one more reason we must realize that the Republican Party will never admit its mistakes or make the changes necessary to ovoid future ones.

When will so-called Conservative commentaries like Hannity, Limbough, and Beck, start giving the constructive criticism necessary to move this country forward instead of being cheer-leaders for every flawed policy and screwy idea that Bush had during his administration ,such as the invasion of Iraq , a war that Bush still won't admit was one of the biggest military mistakes our nation has ever made. Instead of these people having Bush on their programs giving him air-time to make excuses for his momentous failures, they should be "water boarding' him over why he really went to war with Irag! Could the real reason be that he was grossly manipulated by neoconservative who had connections to the State of Israel who would greatly benefit from the removal of Saddam Hussien , giving their country even more power and control over the region. This motivation on the part of Israel wouldn't have been so bad in and of itself if not for the fact that the removal of Saddam really accomplished nothing but allowing a huge vaccum to be created in the region causing even greater instability in the region, and last ,but by no means least, the death of thousands of American troops,

You have articulated my exact thoughts James. The United States will recover over the long run, but the 5th column Neocons will always be around. Their masters the Banksters and as Gerald Celente calls them "The white shoe boys" on Wall Street and the Fed are their enablers and masters. The truth is coming out. Slowly but surely.
