Increasing Third World Immigration Poses New Concern: Return of Leprosy

April 29, 2011 | by Gig Veres :

With the increase of immigrants from Mexico and other third world nations, leprosy has now become a concern to health officials in the United States. Cases of the ancient disease, in its early stages, are often misdiagnosed by doctors as eczema or diabetes. Add to the problem that the medical profession has “very little experience in treating the disease.”

Ben Whitford, in Leprosy in America: New Causes of Concern, estimates that an average of 130 cases are identified each year among immigrants. And now a connection to HIV patients is baffling doctors and scientists. Those treated with antiretroviral drugs for AIDS are developing the leprosy, and the cause is unknown.

Leprosy has plagued the human race since ancient times, and until recently the treatment consisted of isolation from the rest of the world. In the 1940s, a therapy was discovered to stop the progression of the disease, but the physical damage remained. Yahoo! News reports that there are now treatments which cure leprosy in the early stages, but unless doctors learn to recognize the disease, the cure is ineffective.

The challenges of leprosy in America are many, but as in everything, education is the answer. The difficulty in convincing people of the problem might be the greatest hurdle, as who would think in modern times that leprosy, the scourge of ancient times, would be a concern in America?

Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease)

Leprsy

Leprosy is an infectious disease that has been known since biblical times. It is characterized by disfiguring skin sores, nerve damage, and progressive debilitation.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Leprosy is caused by the organism Mycobacteriumleprae. It is not very contagious (difficult to transmit) and has a long incubation period (time before symptoms appear), which makes it difficult to determine where or when the disease was contracted. Children are more susceptible than adults to contracting the disease

Education is not the answer – keeping the 3rd world out of the USA is. Once again this incident only goes to show that, in more ways than one, you can't build a first world country with a third world population. Period

After eradicating such diseases as polio, tuberculosis, leprosy and others, the Western world has spent several decades re-acquiring them through carelessly-controlled Third-World immigration.

In Canada, a recent upsurge of tuberculosis infections has recently been remarked on by medical authorities. Around 1970 I was astonished to read in a news report that a major Toronto hospital had just hired an expert on “tropical diseases”.

There are many reasons why Third-World immigration should not be allowed, and our being dragged back to Medieval health standards is definitely one of them.

Sometimes you have to wonder whether certain issues have been anticipated, or encouraged. If not, let’s see our legislature do something about this problem now besides offering their “solution” which will be vaccinations.I think closing the border should be the second biggest issue next to the economy in this next election.

One has to wonder why Obama can send US troops to Libya to take out Gaddaffi, but the same state-of-the-art-military-complex can’t safeguard our border. I hope American Third Position can do something about our “sham of a Government.”

These strange diseases are just one more detrimental impact of the uncontrolled and illegal immigration into our country. Citizens should have a right to protect themselves.!
