The Ballots That You May Have Missed

There were a number of ballots in yesterday’s mid-term elections which readers interested in the well-being of our people may have missed, including important anti-immigration measures which will be welcomed by all patriots.

In Oklahoma, voters passed three measures which had the local liberal media bleating in anguish.

The first made English the state’s “common and unifying language,” while the second required a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.

The third prohibited state courts from considering international law or Islamic Sharia law when deciding cases.

This last measure is clearly aimed at trying to stop the astonishing turn of events in Minneapolis-St. Paul (where Muslim Somali “refugees” have taken over the airport taxi business) from spreading into Oklahoma.

In addition, Oklahoma voters approved a proposed amendment which cancels the new federal health care law requiring people to have health insurance. Similar measures were on the ballots in Arizona and Colorado.

In Arizona, voters approved a measure banning affirmative action programs by state and local governments based on race, ethnicity, or sex.

In Illinois, voters approved an amendment that enables future governors to be recalled by popular vote.

For the first time since the 1990s, there were no measures to ban same-sex marriage. But in Iowa, voters ousted three state Supreme Court justices who joined a unanimous 2009 ruling that legalized gay marriage there.

In Colorado, voters decisively defeated an anti-abortion ‘personhood’ amendment, similar to one rejected in 2008, that would have given unborn fetuses human rights in the state constitution.

* Denver residents also jettisoned a plan to officially track space aliens. The proposal, which was soundly defeated, would have established a commission to track extraterrestrials, while Californians rejected a ballot measure that would have made their state the first to legalize marijuana for recreational use.

We didn't have any really interesting initiatives on the ballot here in Alabama concerning Immigration etc, but for the first time in 136 years the Republicans have control of the State House and Senate ,and with our new Republican Governor they shouldn't have any excuses in not getting some work done. Our Governor made quite a few promises about dealing with illegal aliens in our state and I intend on reminding him of these promises often.

    A little at a time.

WTF? Denver politicians wanted to track space aliens when they can't even track Mexican aliens?
